Session Description:
Longer Session spend more time, especially if baby is known to be “difficult” to image. This is the fun session that moms, dads, friends, and families get super excited for!! Does baby have hair? What about chubby cheeks? Luscious Lips? Mom’s nose and Dad’s Chin? Let’s find out! We offer a guided explanation of what you are looking at and how to interpret images with model baby for those that struggle seeing 3 dimensional images clearly.
Recommended for pregnancies in the 3rd trimester (28+ weeks), most ideal for pregnancies in the 3rd trimester 28 weeks + thru 34 weeks, but open to all pregnancies. The session starts in 2D and moves into 3D/4D-dimensional imaging & then into the 5D/HD imaging if you choose to upgrade. You must have had your first medical ultrasound & established care with an OB prior to all Appointments.
What is the Difference between 3D and 4D? While you are watching live in our studio you will be experiencing 4D viewing (live movement in the 3D). Once you leave our studio, your photos are a 3D image from the 4D experience…hence we are combing the terms 3D/4D because you always get both, you cannot have 3D without 4D and vice versa. I know it is confusing to us too sometimes.
What is the Difference between 3D/4D and 5D/HD? Both of the terms 5D and HD refer to the same technology and can be used interchangeably. So, 5D/HD is how we choose to refer to it to make sure all the bases are covered. 5D/HD is the newest in 3-dimensional imaging. It takes the old 3D/4D image to a much more realistic almost life like level. If you were to visit our Instagram page @InDueTimeWithShelly, you will notice orange colored images (3D/4D) and pinkish colored images (5D/HD).
Something to think about: 3+ Dimensional imaging can be great at any fetal age however, if you really want to see baby looking like mom or dad, we recommend viewing after 28 weeks. This is because what makes your baby’s face super cute, is “fat”. In fetal development, fat really does not show up on ultrasound until 28 weeks. This is because fat serves as a protector of our organs and it aides in temperature regulation and currently those needs are being met by mom while in the womb So naturally they are last to really take shape and to prepare baby in the final stages of development.
Sometimes factors that we cannot control can affect the clarity of the images and will prevent the sonographer from obtaining perfect pictures.
Factors such as: Amniotic Fluid, Fetal Position, Excessive Body can affect the image quality:
Amniotic Fluid levels, specifically the amount of Amniotic fluid around the effect’s outcome of your session. Murky Amniotic Fluid also poses visibility issues as with any murky fluid. Review our Tips Section for tips on how to try to avoid this situation.
The Position of the Baby also effects outcome of your session, specifically the baby’s face. If your baby is looking downward, has his face all cozied up to the placenta for a nap, or if the baby’s head is tucked right up under mom’s pelvic bone, it can be more difficult to see and image his or her face.
Hands or Feet in front of your baby's can obstruct the view of your baby's face. There is almost always some "part" close to or near the face, but often still produce a cute picture of your baby sucking his/her toes or thumb. The Umbilical Cord can also be directly in front of your baby's face creating an obstacle for a smooth image.
The Umbilical Cord can also be directly in front of your baby's face creating an obstacle for a smooth image.
Excessive Fat, Tissue or Skin also effects outcome of your session. If maternal obesity is involved the penetration level of the sound beam can be greatly hindered.
Anterior Placentas, when the placenta is located anteriorly within the uterus, the penetration level of the sound beam can be greatly hindered. An anterior means the location of the placenta is between the belly button and baby- requiring the ultrasound wave to travel thru the placental tissue twice. Many times, mom has no idea where the placenta implanted, and that is ok. We usually have great results imaging these baby’s, but occasionally it can be a real challenge.
The Gestational Age is un-recommended for session type. 3D-5D are not eligible for a makeup ultrasound if scheduled before the 3rd trimester or after 36 weeks. However, those ages often image wonderful.
If mom has been sick or dehydrated the fluid levels within the amniotic sac could be low (for imaging standards) and cause limited visibility. Drinking for 1 or 2 days before the appointment will Not aid in visibility, being well hydrated for ~14 days is recommended
Early uterine contractions, and baby's positioning can also impair visibility.

Gender Determination Ultrasound
He or She ... which will it be???
Viewing Style:
2D Black and White (2D is the most accurate from to determine gender)
Session Length:
15 minutes
Price:
$65
Session Description:
This is the focused Gender Hunt ultrasound, we first look for your baby's gender, which in some cases can take the entire session. Once gender is established. we will then focus on your baby's face, heartbeat, fetal environment and activities.
Do you want to keep the baby's a secret until a gender reveal? Perfect we can help! These ultrasounds are great for the mom who is a planner and ready to shop, has a gender reveal coming in a few weeks, or is sneaking in because you just can't wait any longer .... yes- we will keep you secret...lol.
You must have had your first medical ultrasound & established care with an OB prior to all Appointments
When to Schedule: Ideal for Pregnancies 15 weeks & Beyond (Preferably 16 weeks & Beyond) will include a free rescan if baby is uncooperative in showing us his/her gender on your initial visit.
***Ok, Ok, we will now attempt as early as 14 weeks and often, we have had great success at this age and earlier but read the but below....
***But we will offer no guarantees the sonographer will feel comfortable making the call this early due to many variables, therefore, no complimentary re scans available to pregnancies earlier than 15 weeks, rescan will cost $35 Fair Enough? If not- just wait the extra week...lol. ***
What is the difference between 14 and 16 weeks?
***The ideal age is 16 weeks because in fetal development a scrotal sac appears in week 16 - as both boys and girls have "nubs", the appearance of a sac plays a large role in visual determinations.
Something to thinks about: Yes, some people find out super early via ultrasound but those cases are usually the expectations to the rule or a result of all the potential obstacles aligning perfectly- which is why the medical field usually will not accept a gender by ultrasound before 16 weeks for the permanent medical records.
Other factors in deciding which week to schedule would be:
If the placenta implanted in an anterior location (between the belly button and baby- requiring the ultrasound to travel thru the placental tissue first) -but many times mom has no idea where the placenta implanted.
It is believed that hormonal spikes can affect the "size" of a fetus's genital tissue.
If mom has extra tummy tissue it is recommend waiting until at least 16 weeks due to the extra tissue the soundwave will have to travel thru.
Recommended Fetal Age:
Ideal for Pregnancies 15 weeks& Beyond (Preferably 16 weeks & Beyond), ***Ok, Ok, we will now attempt as early as 14 weeks with concessions below.
Session Includes:
This is a tummy top session and does not require a full bladder ;)

Gender Policy:
We are happy to check gender, and this service is included in MOST of our packages. AND, Yes, in most cases we can provide gender determination of the baby as early as 14 weeks, ALTHOUGH we prefer to check gender after the baby reaches 16 weeks. Gender determination cannot be guaranteed since we must rely on the cooperation of the baby during your session and several other factors outside our control. Certain factors such as maternal body tissue content, developmental stage and fetal position all affect the ability to determine sex.
